Our products are designed as an alternative to tomatoes for those who are allergic or intolerant. It is estimated that 21 million people in the UK live with allergic disease (source: Allergy UK). They often suffer throughout their lives as food allergy can be difficult to diagnose.

Many supermarkets cater for some allergies with their “Free From” products. You can be allergic to any type of food, and those suffering with less-known or harder to diagnose conditions are left to avoid the problem foods by removing those foods from their diet. As food allergy and intolerance awareness grows, our products are well placed to help alleviate the frustration of living with a tomato restricted diet.

Biography

For years I suffered from mystery stomach pains and problems.  Visits to the Doctor and hospital did not help diagnose the problem.  It was only when I was in my early teens that I discovered I was allergic to tomatoes by keeping a food diary for several weeks.  As a result I avoid tomatoes like the plague and have been upset-tummy free for many years. Some foods have hidden tomatoes that can still catch me out.

We have a son and two beautiful daughters. My daughter also suffers from tomato allergy.   I did not want my children to go without all the tomato-based foods that are available, so I set to work to come up with an alternative. Thus Ally’s Tomato-Free Sauce was born!

We developed our recipe over many months. Tweaking and testing to get the look and taste just right. My children and I can now enjoy a whole variety of food that I spent 20 years avoiding!  We all think it is great, and hope you do too.
